I was a graduate student in Physics at the University of Rochester from 2004 to 2008, when I went to work at Caltech and later transferred to Louisiana State University (due LSU's proximity to the LIGO observatory). I still keep my personal web page here, however.

Before I came to Rochester, I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley. I also spent some time as a student at Lunds Universitet in Sweden, and the Weizmann Institute in Israel. My CV is available.

Recent items

At UR I worked with Prof. Adrian Melissinos and fellow grad student Stefanos Giampanis (now a postdoc at the Albert Einstein Institute in Hannover, Germany) on the LIGO project.

In Rochester I lived at the Ant Hill Cooperative, a housing co-op I founded there, inspired mainly by my experience living in the Oscar Wilde House in Berkeley. In addition to the co-op, two of my pet projects in Rochester were the monthly Critical Mass bicycle ride and the ROCwiki community-edited guide to Rochester. Before moving into Ant Hill Co-op, I lived with Ryan Dahl (now an independent hacker based in Köln, Germany), Micah Milinovich (now a professor at Ole Miss), Qin Zhang, and Vijay Sookdeo. I enjoy travel. My most recent excursion was a hitchhiking-boat-train-bus adventure, overland from Orange County, CA to Mexico City, México in May 2005.
