Magnetic fields, effect of magnetic field on charged particles
Student should understand effect of magnetic field on moving charge particle
Student should realize a current in a wire is made up of moving charges
Student should be comfortable with and able to do a cross product of two vectors
Student should understand sign conventions and how to do the "right hand rule"
to determine direction of F from the velocity and B field vectors
- Student should understand condition of circular motion (f=mv**2/r)
If students are really cooking and you have time, I would suggest analyzing the
homework problem, 28-86 together.
