Physics 113 - Univ. of Rochester - Fall 2004

Our hero!  newton.jpg (69072 bytes)  Listen to the Ballad of Sir Issac Newton (found here)!

Issac Newton invented much of what you will learn about in physics 113.

(And in his spare time he did backup vocals for Bon Jovi.   Amazing.)

News:

Hooray!  We are done!

Check out the physics of skateboarding video.  (This is the low res version.  It is impressive enough, but the high res version is even better.

The final exam distribution and solutions are posted on the web at the links below.  The final exams are available in the box outside my office door.

The grades are submitted to the registrar.  The grades on WebCT have been updated.

The best numerical average distribution is posted below.   This is the distribution that was used to set letter grades in the class.

Something to ponder

"If there ever was a misnomer, it is `exact science.'  Science has always been full of mistakes.  The present day is no exception.  And our mistakes are good mistakes; they require a genius to correct them.  Of course, we do not see our own mistakes."
        - Edward Teller, Conversations on the Dark Secrets of Physics (1991)
