P113 Fall 2003 - Exam 2 Distribution

Overall mathematical average for students taking exam = 59/100

P1=8/12, P2=7/8, P3=7/10, P4=8/15, P5=12/18, P6=10/17, P7=7/20

Yikes!  What happened??  I was expecting a better performance overall on this exam.  I think a numerical average of a 59 is a bit low for this exam.  I see the distribution has widened considerably.  It is clear that a number of you are having troubles.  In terms of a curve on this exam, I would think of a B to be centered at something like 65-68.  If you are 50ish or below, something is not working.  In this case, please spend some time with the solutions and think about your study habits/approach to the course/workshop.  You may find the trouble-shooting guide , in particular the exam trouble guide, to be of some help.  On the other hand, many of you are doing quite well ... keep it up and the keys to post-physics nirvana are yours!
