Mean best numerical average was 82

BNA distribution

The Best Numerical Average (BNA) is your final average in the course where I have calculated it three different ways (see below ... as I mentioned at the start of the term, there is a mistake on the hard copy of the syllabus I handed out at the start of the semester). This is the distribution I used to determine letter grades in the course. A was >= 90, A- was from 85-89, B+ was from 83-84, B was from 77-82, B- was from 71-74, C+ was from 60-70. In calculating the averages below, I used your renormalized exam grades. That means I normalized the mean of each exam to 75. So, before calculating the averages below your exam 1 grade was multiplied by 75/72, since the mean of exam 1 was 72. For exam 2 the normalization factor was 75/76. For the Final exam the normalization factor was 75/60. You can verify the calculations from the information I provide for you on BlackBoard.
